Dev Sanghani

Dev Sanghani is the co-founder and CTO of Canary Mail, the company behind Dove. He started the company with Sohel in 2016 and has spent the decade since building the systems behind a cross-platform email client: on-device AI, PGP and end-to-end encryption, SecureSend, and unified inbox sync across every major provider.

On Dove he works on the parts that have to be right before AI is any use at all — how mail actually syncs, how it gets classified on device, and what never leaves it. His writing covers the technical side of email: account setup and provider quirks, encryption and privacy, and how a modern email client works under the hood. When he explains how to configure an account or fix a sync problem, it comes from the engineer who built the client handling it.

Before Canary Mail, Dev was a software developer at Pocket Gems in San Francisco. He studied Computer Science at Caltech.
