Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & Accounts

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter these Terms. You may not use the Service if doing so is illegal where you are located.

Accounts & Registration

To use certain features you must create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use. You may not transfer your account without our written consent.

Corporate Accounts

If you register on behalf of a company or organization, you represent and warrant you have authority to bind it to these Terms. If you register with a company-managed email, the company may have administrative control over that account.

Geographic Restrictions

Dove may limit or restrict access to the Service by territory and may refuse registration at our discretion.

2. License, Scope & Use

License Grant

Subject to these Terms, Dove grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Dove client software and access the Service for personal or internal business use.

App Store / Platform License

If you downloaded Dove from an app store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play), your use is additionally governed by the store’s terms. App stores are third-party beneficiaries of certain Service provisions as described below.

Acceptable Use

You must use the Service lawfully and in good faith. You agree not to:

• Violate laws, third-party rights, or any content policies;
• Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or harmful content;
• Attempt to access others’ accounts or data without permission;
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated systems to access or collect data from the Service;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code;
• Use the Service to build or train competing email/AI products.

Violation may result in suspension or termination and legal liability.

3. Third-Party Services & Integrations

Dove integrates with third-party services (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, calendar providers, cloud storage, AI providers, payment processors). Your use of those services is subject to their terms and policies. Dove is not responsible for third-party availability, errors, policy changes, or data loss caused by those providers.

4. AI, ML & Google API Compliance

On-Device Models

Certain personalization features use models trained and stored on your device. These models and related training data do not leave your device.

Cloud-Hosted Models & Copilot

For drafting, summarization, chat assistance, or other advanced features, Dove may transmit minimal text to trusted AI providers (for example: OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, Google). We require that providers not use your data to train or improve their general models and that they adhere to contractual privacy/security commitments.

Google API Limited Use

If you connect Gmail or Google Calendar, Dove’s use of Google API data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use Requirements: such data is used only for user-facing features, not for advertising, analytics, or third-party model training. You may revoke access via Google account settings at any time.

5. Personal Data & Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and share personal data. By using Dove you agree to our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data or use email content for targeted advertising.

6. Fees, Subscriptions & Payments

Some features require payment. Fees and subscription terms are displayed at purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before renewal. Payment processors (Apple, Google, Stripe, etc.) handle billing; refunds follow processor policies unless otherwise required by law.

If you pay by credit card you authorize recurring charges until cancellation. Overdue payments may result in suspension.

7. Customer Content & Ownership

Your Content

“Customer Content” means any content you upload, transmit, or store using the Service (including emails, attachments, contacts, and calendars). You retain all ownership rights in your Customer Content.

License to Operate the Service

By using the Service you grant Dove a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, transmit, and process Customer Content solely to provide and improve the Service (including troubleshooting, backups, and safety). This license ends when Customer Content is deleted except to the extent retention is required by law.

Feedback

Feedback you provide may be used by Dove without restriction.

8. Intellectual Property

Dove and Cartasec (and their licensors) retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service, software, documentation, technology, and trademarks. Except for the limited license granted above, no rights are transferred to you.

9. Beta Features & Experimental Functionality

We may offer beta or experimental features that are not fully tested. Such features are provided “as-is” and may be modified or removed at any time. Use them at your own risk.

10. Security & Data Retention

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. However, no system is fully secure. You are responsible for device security. We retain data as described in our Privacy Policy and for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with law, or enforce our rights.

11. Termination & Suspension

Dove may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, nonpayment, or to comply with legal obligations. On termination your license ends and we may delete or anonymize your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may stop using the Service at any time.

12. Warranties, Disclaimers & Limitations

Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated, the Service is provided “as-is” and “as available.” Dove disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

AI features may produce inaccurate or incomplete outputs; you are responsible for verifying results before relying on them.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dove will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages. Dove’s aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid by you to Dove in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 100. Where local law does not permit such limits, liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Dove, its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any losses, claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

14. Export Controls & Sanctions

You must comply with applicable export and sanctions laws. You represent you are not located in a sanctioned country, are not listed on denied-party lists, and will not use the Service for prohibited military or nuclear activities. Dove may restrict or terminate access to comply with applicable laws.

15. App Store Specific Terms

Apple App Store

If you obtained Dove via Apple: (a) these Terms are between you and Dove, not Apple; (b) Apple is not responsible for support or warranty claims; and (c) Dove authorizes Apple to enforce these Terms as a third-party beneficiary where applicable.

Google Play

If you obtained Dove via Google Play: Google is a third-party beneficiary and is not responsible for support or disputes. You must comply with Google Play policies.

16. International Use & Governing Law

Cartasec Pte. Ltd. is headquartered in Singapore. These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except for limited exceptions below, disputes will be resolved as set out in Section 17.

17. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - this Section limits how disputes are resolved.

Informal Resolution

Before filing formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at hey[at]dove.email and attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

Arbitration Agreement

Except where prohibited by applicable law, you and Dove agree that disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms will be finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) under its Rules. The seat of arbitration will be Singapore and the language will be English. The arbitrator’s decision will be final and binding.

Small Claims & Injunctive Relief

This arbitration clause does not prevent you from filing a claim in small claims court if your claim qualifies, nor does it prevent either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in any court for actual or threatened intellectual property infringement.

Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes only on an individual basis. You and Dove waive any right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class, collective, or representative action.

18. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms which can be referred from the change in effective date. Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.

19. Miscellaneous

• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without Dove’s consent. Dove may assign its rights freely.
• Severability: Invalid provisions will be severed without affecting the remainder.
• Entire Agreement: These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Dove regarding the Service.
• No Partnership: Nothing creates a joint venture, employment, or partnership.
